Now one of the biggest and best meetings of the year.This year saw the introduction to the Poacher line-up of the International 500cc Sidecar class.And what racing they put on.Absolutely fanatastic.With newly crowned European Champions,Brother and Sister crew William and Nathalie Matthijssen out to show why they won that crown.Unlucky crew at the European Championships in Holland was multi European Champions Thomas Kunert and Bernd Kreuzer.With Sven Holstein and Karl Keil also over for the Poacher,the top British crews of Goodwin,Read,Harvey,and Radley were certainly going to have to pull out all the stops to get a place on the podium.
With the retirement of Robert Barth,a new Poacher Champion was guaranteed for 2007.But what a line-up.Screen,Appleton,Pijper,Hurry,SchutzbachKroger,Janosschka,Denham,Phillips,Nobes,Rodgers,Williams,Smith,Sturgeon.Who would you pick to win?
As usual at The Poacher the RH Sidecar line-up was second to none.Poacher supremo Reg Blackbourn's son Colin always goes well here,and is having possibly his best season ever.Whoever would win,wouls really have to go some on Britains biggest track.Speeds of over 130 kilometers are the normal for these 1,000cc monsters.
With a truly dramatic finish to the final.
