Building on the success of the 2005 Westcountry Winner.This years Winner will probably end up being one of the best events of 2006.On a very fast and smooth track,there was some tremendous racing.In the solo class Andrew Appleton was looking to add the Westcountry Winner to his ever growing collection of titles this season.But trying to stop him was a very high class field,which included the veteran Trevor Banks,Paul Cooper,Glen Phillips,Martin Williams,Vince Kinchin and Darren Pugh.
The 1,000cc Right Hand Sidecars saw some of the closest and best racing of the day.Real handlebar to handlebar action.With most of the leading crews there.Matthews,Wilson,Tolhurst,Whitelam,Simmons and Blackbourn,the final was sure to be one to savor. And it certainly was a fantastic days racing. A real must for anyone who missed it.
